December and Beyond!

EUSPBA Upgrades!

Congratulations to Kathleen Brown, Ned Fenwick, and William Shropshire, they were awarded upgrades to Grade 3 in individual piping competitions by the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association!
They worked very hard on their competition tunes and did very well at the games.  We're very proud of them!

Happy Holidays

On Saturday, December 18th the Pipe Band played for the Holiday Party for Ms Lilly and the George B. Thomas Learning Academy.
We were joined on pipes by 2005 graduate Eric Abbott, who is playing with  grade 3, Wasatch & District Pipe Band, in Utah (they're going to the World Championships in August!); and by Andrew Donlon who graduated last year and who is majoring in music and piping performance at the College of Wooster in Ohio. (He's a very talented sax player too!)

We will be taking a break from practicing for the Winter Holiday.

When we return in January, we will be working on music for the Rockville Cluster Instrumental Music Concert on January 12th.  We will be playing at the beginning of the program.

Thank you for your support!

Hints to hang up your kilt

Piping instructor Paula Glendinning suggested: Holding the kilt at the top and folding it completely in half with the "good side" in, then folding it in half again not only protects the kilt's pleats and fabric but makes in easier to stay on the hanger.  She got this hint from a kilt maker.  Give it a try!
